David Su is a musician, game developer, and researcher. Currently he does audio programming on Bad Dream Games' One Hand Clapping in addition to developing a suite of interactive songs with singer-songwriter-engineer Dominique Star. David recently released Yi and the Thousand Moons, a short video game musical which won Best Style at the 2017 Bit Awards and was nominated for Audio Design at the 2017 TIGA Games Industry Awards. His interactive song Seasons (季节), a collaboration with Dominique Star, received an Honorable Mention for Best Student Game at the 2019 Independent Games Festival. Previously he worked on adaptive music for wellbeing at the MIT Media Lab, artificial intelligence for film scoring at Amper Music, and drum sensor technology at Sunhouse. As a songwriter and drummer David also makes music with folk-pop group Morningsiders. His work has been featured in Rolling Stone, PC Gamer, Polygon, A.V. Club, Stereogum, Variety, and the International Computer Music Conference; he has performed at venues such as Lincoln Center and events such as SXSW. David is especially interested in creating new interactive musical narrative experiences.
