Keynote: Reshaping live performance with MI.MU
In this engaging and immersive session, Imogen will demonstrate the astonishing power and impact of MI.MU gloves. Making use of a completely customisable series of gestures - from finger movements, to hand postures, to arm motion - MI.MU Gloves give artists total control over their musical performances without the need for wires or other equipment. With a six-hour battery life and low-latency wifi communication, through bespoke MI.MU ‘Glover’ software, performers can map gestures to any midi-enabled music, lighting or vjing software, with Artificial Intelligence (AI) allowing them to mix and customise gestures into near-limitless combinations. MI.MU was born out of a desire to use the complex and intuitive movement of the human body to free performers from traditional musical set ups. Imogen will demonstrate how one can better engage the audience with more dynamic and visual performances, liberated from laptops, keyboards and controllers.
