Solutions will be proposed to give both users and developers a more cohesive experience when employing microtonal tunings.
The talk will cover:
- Brief audio demonstrations and an introduction to microtonal scales and composition.
- An overview of the current fragmented landscape of microtonal software and hardware.
- A brief history of tuning methods and file formats.
- As a software developer, how can I best support microtonal tunings?
- A proposal for a new tuning format suitable for database storage.
- Presentation of an open source SDK for the storage and retrieval of tuning data (TBA)
- Visions of the future.
The aim of this talk is that developers will be inspired to add support for microtonal tuning in their software.
